Apple Ads downloads, next to everything else the App Store brought
Apple counts Apple Ads installs inside "App Store search" in App Store Connect, so ads and people finding you on their own look the same. Apparent reads both and takes the ad installs out, so you see what the ads brought and what search brought by itself.
What you can answer with both
- How many downloads were ads?
- Apple Ads installs are taken out of App Store search, so the rest reads "Found by searching".
- Did turning ads off cost me downloads?
- Campaigns are marked on the downloads chart, with pauses and bid changes where they happened.
- Are ads replacing downloads I'd get anyway?
- Watch search downloads with and without ads running, on one timeline.
How it reads on your page

Apple Ads brought 80 of Fern's 162 iPhone downloads on Tuesday.
- Without ads, 41 people found Fern by searching that day.
- Ads paused on Thursday; search downloads stayed about the same.

Questions
Are ad installs added to my downloads?
No. They're part of the App Store's downloads and shown as a share of them, never added on top.
Does it count view-through installs?
No. Only installs where someone tapped the ad.
What does it cost?
Nothing while Apparent is in beta.
