App Store Connect analytics, in plain words

App Store Connect has the numbers, spread across Sales and Trends, App Analytics and Ratings and Reviews, one app at a time. Apparent reads them for you and says what happened: how many people downloaded your app, where they found it, who paid and what they wrote, next to what they do inside the app.

Free during beta. One email when your spot opens, nothing else.

What Apparent reads from App Store Connect

Downloads
First-time downloads, redownloads and updates, by country, device and version, from Apple's daily sales reports, going back about a year.
Being found
Impressions, product page views and downloads by where they came from: App Store search, browsing, websites and other apps.
Sales
In-app purchases and paid downloads, refunds and the money you keep, by country and product.
Use
Sessions, active devices and deletions, for people who share data with developers.
Crashes
Crash counts by version, device and iOS version.
Reviews
Every new rating and review, with the country it came from, plus your app's icon and versions.

How it reads on your page

  • 328 people downloaded Fern this week, 3× more than last week. Most found it by searching the App Store.
  • First sale in Japan: someone bought Fern Plus 2 days after downloading it.
  • Someone in Canada gave Fern 5 stars: "Finally remembered to water my monstera."

Examples from Fern, one of the example apps in the live demo.

Connecting App Store Connect

  1. Create an App Store Connect API key for Apparent. When your spot on the waitlist opens, we'll walk you through it; it takes about two minutes.
  2. Apparent asks Apple for the analytics reports of each of your apps and reads the sales reports it already has.
  3. Your downloads and sales history appear right away. Apple sends the first analytics reports a day or two after they're requested.

How fresh the numbers are

Apple publishes each day's sales report the next day and analytics reports a day or two after that. New reviews and ratings show up within a few hours.

What App Store Connect still does

App Store Connect stays where you publish, price your app, answer reviews and get paid. Its payments and financial reports, with taxes and bank transfers, are the numbers for your accountant. Apparent reads; it never changes anything in your account.

Questions

Can I see App Store Connect analytics for all my apps at once?

Yes. Apparent puts every app on one page, with one sentence for all of them together, and a page per app.

Does Apparent change anything in App Store Connect?

No. It only reads your reports, reviews and app details.

Why are some numbers in App Store Connect smaller than my app's own?

Apple's App Analytics counts sessions, active devices and deletions only for people who agreed to share data with developers. Downloads and sales count everyone. Apparent's SDK sees everyone who opens your app.

How far back does it go?

Downloads and sales go back about a year, from Apple's daily sales reports. Analytics reports start from when Apparent asks Apple for them.

What does it cost?

Nothing while Apparent is in beta.
