Google Ads App campaigns, checked against your app

Google Ads reports the installs it believes its App campaigns brought. Apparent puts them next to your Google Play installs and the new people your app actually saw, so you know when the two agree and when they don't, and with RevenueCat it says who went on to pay.

What Apparent reads from Google Ads

Spend
What each App campaign spent per day and country, in US dollars and in your ad account's own currency.
Installs
The installs Google counts as its own conversions, shown as "Google says", never as a fact.
Taps and views
Impressions and clicks per campaign, day and country.
Today, hour by hour
Today's and yesterday's spend and installs by the hour, so a campaign you just started shows up the same day.

How it reads on your page

Fernfrom

Google says 34 installs on Friday; Fern saw 21 new Android people that day.

  • Your App campaign spent $42 this week, mostly in Brazil.
  • First buyer from Google Ads: someone in Germany paid 2 days after installing.
Fern is one of the example apps in the live demo.

Connecting Google Ads

  1. Sign in with Google and pick your Google Ads account. There's no developer token or key to make.
  2. Apparent finds your App campaigns and which app each one promotes.
  3. It reads past campaigns once, then checks again through the day.

How fresh the numbers are

Today's numbers arrive hour by hour. Google keeps adjusting conversions for a few days, so recent days are read again.

What Google Ads still does

Google Ads stays where you build campaigns, set budgets, and upload ads. Apparent reads. It never changes a campaign or spends money, and Google's installs are part of your store downloads, never added on top.

Apparent's page for an example app: a sentence about how it did, the key numbers, and highlights like a first sale in Japan.

Questions

Why does Google Ads show more installs than my app?

Google counts its own conversions, which can include people who never opened the app. Apparent shows what Google says next to the new people your app saw, and flags it when they're far apart.

Do I need a Google Ads developer token?

No. You sign in with Google; Apparent asks for read access only.

Does it work for iOS App campaigns?

Yes. Each campaign is matched to the app it promotes, on either store.

What does it cost?

Nothing while Apparent is in beta.
