Google Play Console analytics, in plain words
Google Play Console tracks a lot about your Android app, across statistics, Android vitals, ratings and financial reports. Apparent reads the reports Google already writes for your account every day and tells you what happened in plain words, next to your iOS numbers and what people do in the app.
What Apparent reads from Google Play
- Installs
- Installs and uninstalls by people and devices, updates and active devices, by country, app version, device and Android version.
- Sales
- Every order and refund across your apps, by country and product.
- Ratings and reviews
- Your rating over time and each new review, with its country and app version.
- Crashes and freezes
- Crashes and "app not responding" freezes from Android vitals.
How it reads on your page
- 1,204 people installed Fern on Android this month; 1 in 5 removed it again.
- Fern froze for 7 people on Android this week, mostly on older phones.
- Your best day on Google Play: 41 sales on Sunday.

Connecting Google Play
- Give Apparent read-only access to your Play Console's reports: a Google Cloud service account invited with the "View app information and download bulk reports" permission. We'll walk you through it when your spot opens.
- Apparent reads the monthly report files Google keeps for your developer account, which go back to your first months on Google Play.
- It checks for updated files every few hours and only reads what changed.
How fresh the numbers are
Google updates these report files about once a day, usually a day or two behind. Apparent reads new ones within a few hours.
What Play Console still does
Play Console stays where you publish, run store listing experiments, reply to reviews and see your payouts. Android vitals there goes deeper into each crash, with stack traces. Apparent reads with view-only permission; it can't change anything.

Questions
Can Apparent change my Google Play apps?
No. The permission it needs is view-only: it reads your app information and report files.
Does it show iOS and Android together?
Yes. Each app's page combines the App Store and Google Play, or shows either store on its own.
How far back does it go?
As far as Google's report files for your account go, usually back to your first months on Google Play.
What does it cost?
Nothing while Apparent is in beta.
