Add it

// app/build.gradle.kts
implementation("fyi.apparent:apparent-android:0.2.0")

// Start it in your Application class's onCreate
import fyi.apparent.Apparent

Apparent.start(this, app = "my-app", key = "<your key>", apiUrl = "https://in.apparent.fyi")

// Compose (apparent-compose), in each screen:
TrackScreen("home")

// The actions that matter
Apparent.track("sign_up")

On Maven Central. Every option: the Kotlin (Android) docs.

What you get

  • Compose screens with one call, or one screen per Activity.
  • Purchases from Play Billing, or through RevenueCat.
  • Which link brought each install, with the Play install referrer.
  • Crashes saved before the app goes down, sent on the next launch.
  • Google Play downloads, ratings and reviews on the same page.

Private by default

  • No advertising id and no AD_ID permission.
  • The IP address is used to tell the country, then dropped. It's never stored.
  • State lives in noBackupFilesDir, so a restored phone counts as a new install.
  • Data safety answers written out for you in the docs.
  • optOut() stops it, and it's remembered. Your data is never sold or shared.

Questions

Which Android versions does it support?

Android 7 (API 24) and later.

Does it need Google Play services?

No. It has no dependencies at all; the Play install referrer library is optional.

Does it work with Jetpack Compose?

Yes. One call per screen, or one line on your NavHost's route.

What do I answer in Play's Data safety form?

Device or other ids, app interactions and crash logs, for analytics, not shared. The docs list each answer.
