Paywall

A paywall is the screen in your app that asks people to pay, usually listing the plans and what they unlock.

Also called Paywall conversion.

In plain words

Of the people who saw Fern's paywall, 1 in 9 started a trial.

How Apparent would say it about Fern, an example app in the live demo.

Good to know

A hard paywall asks people to pay before they can use the app; a soft one lets them in and asks later or for extra features.

The numbers to watch are how many people see the paywall, and how many of those start a trial or buy. Record the paywall's screen as an event to see both.

Small changes, like which plan is selected first or showing the yearly price per month, can move the result. Tools such as RevenueCat and Superwall can test paywalls against each other.

Where the number comes from

Your app's own events, plus purchases from RevenueCat or the stores.
